Bizarro Con

BizarroCon is an annual gathering of Bizarro Fiction writers, artists, performers, filmmakers, publishing professionals, and fans. The Wonderland Book Awards are a recognition presented annually at BizarroCon for superior achievement in bizarro fiction writing. The 2026 awards, for books published in 2025, will be presented at the convention banquet. Now in its 18th year, 2026 marks the first year BizarroCon will be hosted on Portland’s Eastside at The Jupiter.
“Bizarro Con is what would happen if an improv comedy troupe said, ‘Fuck it. Let’s write books…’ That’s a fun atmosphere, even if you’re 100% terrified of large groups of people, like I am.” – Nicholas Day
“I find myself recharged as an artist, with restored faith in total acceptance, and I’ve come away with stronger bonds than I could have ever imagined possible. It seems that the first rule of Bizarro Con is go in without expectation, and allow the madness to wash over you.” – Sauda Namir
“Despite being a theatre person, I do consider myself to be a bit shy when interacting with a group of people for the first time. I remember being excited/nervous to meet nearly 80 (if I remember right) people that I have come to know online over the past few years, and multiple people invited me to come hang out and chat with them upon meeting them for the first time. I ended up jumping from group to group to group the entire weekend. The environment is very light-hearted, but entertaining and passionate. You will be amongst like-minded people that want to enjoy your company and have a good time.” – Mona Swan LeSueur
“This is gonna be when you get excited, and you might meet people who will really matter someday, family you didn’t think you could have. I showed up scared and left knowing this was my life.” –Garrett Cook
